P. G. Grambling Sr. Succumbs; Services Scheduled Friday

Prentis Graves Grambling Sr., 83, died at 8:30 a.m. following a lengthy illness. He was a building contractor and city employee for many years, now retired.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ruston.

Services will be held at the Spears Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by Dr. G. Avery Lee. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, under direction of Spears Funeral Home of Ruston.

Masonic services will be conducted by Ruston Lodge No. 106 at the cemetery.

His parents, the late Robert Mercer Grambling and Jennie Sholars Grambling, moved to Ruston in the summer of 1886 when Mr. Grambling was an infant.

His survivors are his widow, Mrs. Alta Jones Grambling; two daughters, Mrs. Clyde W. McConathy of Shreveport and Mrs. Jack Busey of Little Rock, Ark.; one son, P. G. Grambling Jr., superintendent of Ruston's light and water plant, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
