Quincy B. Etheridge
Quincy B. Etheridge, 93, of Liberty, died Nov. 1, 1999, at his residence.
Visitation is 5-9 tonight and 8-11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hartman Funeral Home in McComb. Visitation resumes at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Church of God of Prophecy in Liberty until services there at 2 p.m. The Rev. Bobby Greer and the Rev. Winton Allred will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Etheridge was born Aug. 12, 1906, in Amite County. He was the son of Tim K. Etheridge and Matilda Whittington Etheridge.
He was a retired farmer and logger and a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Liberty.
Mr. Etheridge was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nellie Whittington Etheridge; three sons, Nelson, Quincy Jr. and Milton Etheridge; one daughter, Marine Etheridge; five brothers, Johnny, Bartley, Eugene, Marcus and Charlie Etheridge; and one sister, Nancy Whittington.
Survivors include five sons, Willie J. Etheridge of Liberty, Charles Josea Etheridge of Lockport, La., Paul and Milford Etheridge, both of McComb, and Thomas Etheridge of Summit; four daughters, Faye Etheridge of East Fork, Iris Rouchon of Liberty, Essie Allred of Hammond, La., and Pauline Huhn of Mize; one sister, Effie Johnson of Magnolia; 31 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Etheridge, Ben Etheridge, Daryl Huhn, Rodney Etheridge, Dale Etheridge, Ray Etheridge and Tim Etheridge. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
