SHREVEPORT, LA - Quitman Harold Girlinghouse, 78, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2000.
Funeral services for Mr. Girlinghouse will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2000 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Billy Pierce, assisted by Bro. Donnie Vercher, pastor of Ford Park Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, December 24, 2000 at the funeral home.
Mr. Girlinghouse was a resident of Shreveport for 46 years. He was a Deacon and active member of his beloved Ford Park Baptist Church and proudly served our country during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elsie B. Girlinghouse of Shreveport, LA two sons, Don Girlinghouse of Bethany, LA and Marion Girlinghouse and wife, Janet of Waskom, TX two daughters, Rita Smith and husband, Randy of Shreveport, LA and Annette Rolling and husband, Kevin of Hallsville, TX nine grandchildren, Charles Girlinghouse and wife, Pam, Gretchen Finley, Clay Smith and wife, Brandi, Casey Smith, Jacob, Caleb, and Luke Girlinghouse, Sarah and Rachel Rolling three great-grandchildren, Sierra, Blake, and Aaron Girlinghouse brother, Bill Girlinghouse and wife, Bobbie of Vidar, TX and two sisters, Lillie McLendon of Shreveport, LA and Ruth Schillings and husband, Bob of Haughton, LA.
Pallbearers will be Mark Ambrose, Murry Hodge, Bo Roberts, Cliff Roberts, George Smith, David Osborne, Bill McSween, and Readus Price.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Ford Park Baptist Church.
