R D SMITH
1932 - 2013

Mr. R.D. Smith, 80, of Tioga, passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at Riverside Rehabilitation Hospital in Alexandria. He was born in Sikes, LA in 1932 to Grover Cleveland and Mandy Elizabeth Maddox Smith.

He recently retired from Prime Trucking with a three million mile safety award. Mr. Smith served in the United States Navy Seabees as a Petty Officer First Class. He was a member of Argola Hunting Club and always looked forward to deer season.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and sisters; and two half-sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Aline Flowerree Smith of Tioga; son Gary Smith (Jamie) of Tioga; daughter Rene’ Morrison (Ira) of Costa Rica; grandchildren, Seann Smith (Susan) of Boise, Idaho, Amanda Murphy (Eric) of Diana, Texas, Jana Taylor (Jamie) of Tioga, Julie Smith (Jamie Timberlake) of Tioga, Todd Morrison (Rhonda) of Carless, LA; eleven great grandchildren and one on the way.

At Mr. Smith's request, no services will be held. Memorials may be made to Palestine Methodist Church, P.O. Box 68, Ball, LA 71405 or to the charity of your choice.
