Rabon Clyde Dodson, Sr.
Mr. Rabon Clyde Dodson, Sr., 83, retired foreman for Maury Steel Corpotation and resident of Galloway Street, died Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services for Mr. Dodson will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Dorris Rader officiating.
Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late David Wesley Dodson and Cora Veach Dodson.
He attended Maury County schools and served as a private in the 109th cavalry of Columbia.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Catherine Gilliam Dodson of Columbia; two daughters, Peggy (Bud) Poore of Nashville and Donna (Mike) McDonald of Flat Rock, Michigan; two sons, Rabon (Linda) Dodson, Jr. and Roger (Jane) Dodson, both of Columbia; a son-in-law, Wesley McCandless of Santa Fe; a sister, Ruth Peach of Theta; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Shirley McCandless and Elizabeth June Dodson; a sister, Mary Dodson; and two brothers, Herman Dodson and Paul Dodson.
Pallbearers are Brian Poore, Jeff McDonald, Jason McDonald, Greg Dodson, Michael Dodson, James Wesley "Bo" McCandless, Eddie Martin and Tim Thurman.
