VOORHIES, RALPH P.

Died at 1 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at Baton Rouge General Hospital. He lived at 3159 Sherry Dr. and he was 44. He was a native of Moreauville. He was employed by the Credit Bureau of the South and was formerly with Time Finance. He was a World War II veteran.

Body at Welsh Funeral Home from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday. Services will be at St. Joseph's Cathedral at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by Msgr. Stanley Ott. Burial will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Byrd Voorhies, Baton Rouge; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Voorhies, Moreauville; a son, Ralph Paul Voorhies Jr., Baton Rouge; a daughter, Miss Shelia Voorhies, Alexandria; four sisters, Miss Odile Voorhies, Alexandria; Mrs. Floyd Tassin, Ville Platte, and Mrs. Wilma Dufrene and Mrs. Ken Somme, both of Des Allemands; four brothers, Elmo Voorhies and John Voorhies, both of Moreauville; the Rev. Louis Voorhies, Uganda, Africa, and Allen Voorhies, Gretna.

He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Woodmen of the World, American Legion, Nicholson Post No. 38, and the Young Men's Business Association.
