RANDOLPH PINKSTON

The body of Pvt. Randolph M. Pinkston, who was killed in the battle for Luzon, will be returned to Camden Tuesday for burial. He was wounded on March 8, 1945 and died on March 9, 1945.

Pvt. Pinkston was 19 at the time of his death and was born at Buena Vista, Ouachita county on July 7, 1925. He attended Camden high school and prior to that went to grade school in El Dorado. He entered the service at Little Rock in October 1943, and later served with the famous Rainbow division. He went overseas on Dec. 28, 1944 with the 158th Infantry and fought through the battle of Manila.

He was awarded the Purple Heart and other decorations.

The body will arrive in Camden at 3:18 p. m. Tuesday from Fort Worth.

Before entering the service he was employed at the Coca Cola Bottling Co., and also the Yellow Cab Company here.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Pinkston, of Camden; a sister. Mrs. Ira Taylor of Cullendale; and a brother Carlos Pinkston of Camden.

Funeral services will be held at the Assembly of God church Wednesday at 2 p. m. by Rev. A. W. Tanner and Rev. W. Neill Hart. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery with Proctor mortuary in charge.

Pall bearers will be members of the American Legion and the National Guard will furnish a firing squad for the full military honors at the grave.
