Whittington, Randy Joe

An arborist with LSU Landscape Services, he died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 35 and a resident and native of Port Allen.

Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, was on Friday, Jan. 26, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Saturday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Cleve Fontenot. Interment in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Majors Whittington, Baton Rouge; parents, Alva “Whitt” “Leon” and Patsy Hicks Whittington, Addis; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ryan Kelly and Leanne Lewis Whittington, and Brad Whittington, all of Port Allen; eight nephews, Brian Whittington, Scott Majors, Jimbo Majors, John Cody Majors, Jimmy Majors, Brandon Majors, Alex Langhart and Garrett Blake; four nieces, Merisa Whittington, Amanda Majors, Jeananne Majors and Jeanette Majors; mother-in-law, Barbara Majors, Port Allen; father-in-law, Billy Majors; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe Majors of Torbert, Jimmy and Lynn Majors, Merit Island, Fla., Johnny Majors, Oklahoma, Floyd Majors, Conroe, Texas, Becky Majors, Jennifer Majors, Orlando, Fla., and Billy Majors, Krotz Springs.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Alva Lee Sr. and Melba June Dozier Whittington and Grover and Velma Stenson Hicks.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in order to defray funeral expenses.
