ROBERTSON -- Mr. Ransom Robertson, age 72 years, died at the family residence, Ball, La., Monday, January 12, at 2:30 a.m. The deceased had been in ill health for quite sometime.
Mr. Robertson, a gentleman and scholar of the old school, came to Louisiana when quite young, with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George L. Robertson, from Hattiesburg, Miss. He was a lifelong member of Kitchen's Creek Baptist church, which church was organized by his father. Since the death of his father, and for the past 40 years, Mr. Robertson has been the leader of the church. Outside of his home, Mr. Robertson will not be missed more than at his place in Kitchen's Creek church, where only severe illness has recently prevented his attending church.
He is survived by his widow, Mr[s.] Amanda Delilah Emmons Robertson, six sons, Gordon, Maurice, Carrol, Louis, Russell and Howard; two daughters, Mrs. Lottie Robertson and Mrs. W. T. McCormick all of Ball; two brothers, C. T. and J. H. Robertson and one sister, Mrs. Lawrence Morgan of Route 2, Pollock. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Kitchen Creek Baptist church at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 13, with interment in the Kitchen Creek cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral home of Alexandria.
