Rayford L. Martin, 69, Burial Held

Funeral services for Rayford Lenoir Martin, 69, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Hartman Chapel.

Mr. Martin, a painting contractor, died at 9 p.m. Friday in the Veterans Hospital in Jackson following a lengthy illness.

Born March 18, 1906, he was a native of Amite County and made his home on Rt. 3, Summit, at the time of his death.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include one son, Michael E. Martin, Jackson; three daughters, Mrs. Camille Scott, Bay St. Louis, Mrs. Juliet Lewis, Summit, Mrs. Lenoir Rye, Prairieville, La.; two brothers, Jones Martin, Liberty, Hollis Lazar Martin, Baldwin, La.; and 10 grandchildren.

The Rev. Larry Fields officiated. Burial was in the Whittington Cemetery with Hartman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
