Raymon Kelly, 75, died Saturday, December 21, 2002, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at Lakewood Funeral Home. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Kelly was born in Leake County to the late Olin and Valera Alford Kelly in 1927. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University with a BS degree in Agriculture, and he was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving our country during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Kelly was retired after 30 years with the U.S. Postal Service, as a letter carrier.
Mr. Kelly was a former resident of Jackson for 48 years, and had lived in the Brandon area for the last four years. He was a member of Alta Woods Baptist Church where he was very active in Sunday School. He was a Mason, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was an avid fan of the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 52 years, Faye Cannon Kelly of Brandon; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Denise Kelly of Slidell, La.; daughter and son-in-law, Renea Kelly Hays and Mike of Jackson; sister, Lucille Boydston of Carthage; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Mr. Kelly's fellow classmates of the Men's Sunday School class at Alta Woods Baptist Church.
