R. B. ESHOM

R. B. Eshom, C.C.F. candidate in Warner riding, is 33 years of age, and was born in Olympia, Wash. He came to Canada in April, 1920, with his parents, where they settled at Rainier, Alberta, in the Eastern Irrigation district. There he attended school and worked with his father on the farm. In 1928 he took a course at Garbutt Business College in Calgary, and later successfully held a position as salesman for one of the large machine companies there.

He met and married Miss Elinor Roughsedge, while in Calgary, and they now have four children. After the death of his father, he went back to Rainier and operated the farm until 1935, when he moved to Skiff and took over a store, which he now owns and operates. Under his management, it has grown into a large and successful business.

Mr. Eshom has long been interested in public affairs, and co-operative endeavors. As a youth he was president of his local Jr. U.F.A., and is now chairman of the Skiff school board. He is an advocate of social and economic reform, as a means of building a better Canada.
