OAKDALE -- Services for Rebecca Johnson Whittington will be at noon today in Ardoin Memorial Chapel of Oakdale with Harry Coultas and Tim Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Butter Cemetery in Forest Hill.
Whittington, 93, of Pine Prairie died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in Rapides Regional Medical Center.
She was a resident of Pine Prairie and a retired school teacher with 33 years of service. She was a member of Retired Teachers' Association, Homemakers' Club, Pine Prairie Church of Christ and the Prayer Partners.
Survivors include one son, Charles Whittington of Pine Prairie; one stepson, Wayne Dew of Natchitoches; one brother, George Johnson Jr. of Forest Hill; and six sisters, Ruby Porter and Juanita Lyles, both of Pineville, Vera Hendrex of New Caney, Texas, Mera Rhinehart of Shreveport, Georgia Jones of San Antonio and Margie Hearn of Lebanon, Tenn.
Pallbearers will be Sam Poole Jr., John D. Hendrex, Charner Lyles Jr., Murphy Johnson, Clayton Whittington and Craig Whittington.
Friends may call from 8-11:40 a.m. today in the funeral home.
