BECKY PRINCE BUNYARD
Funeral services for Mrs. Becky Prince Bunyard, 44, of Carthage were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 1992 at First United Methodist Church of Carthage. Interment followed in Restland Memorial Park near Carthage. The Rev. Earl Cantrelle and Mr. Bernie Tiede officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home in Carthage. Mrs. Bunyard died Sunday evening, May 17, at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, La., after a lengthy illness.
Born on Feb. 12, 1948 in Shreveport, she was the daughter of Dr. Kenneth Carl and Doris Lenore Wubbena Prince. Mrs. Bunyard had been employed at Panola General Hospital and at Medical Center Hospital in Tyler as an Accredited Records Technician in the Medical Records Department for several years. She and her husband owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Center from 1975 until 1981. Mrs. Bunyard moved back to Carthage in 1981 and had been employed as a secretary/receptionist at First State Bank in Carthage from 1981 until 1991. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and was involved in the Acolyte program at the church. Mrs. Bunyard had also been voted as Employee of the Year in 1989 by the Carthage Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Epsilon Tau Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. On May 27, 1967 she married Guy Lewis Bunyard in Carthage.
Mrs. Bunyard was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Carl Prince, and by a brother, Scott Thomas Prince, who died in 1990.
Mrs. Bunyard is survived by her husband, Mr. Guy Lewis Bunyard of Carthage; one daughter, Miss Leslie Bunyard of Carthage; one brother, the Rev. Chris Prince of Hempstead, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Leslie Copeland of Shreveport, La.
Pallbearers were Jim Payne, Gene Giles, Lynn Vincent, William Goolsby, Larry D. Davis, J.R. Duke, Chuck Prince and Paul Prince.
Memorial donations may be made to The Children's Department at First United Methodist Church in Carthage.
