REUBEN KELLY
NEWTON -- Funeral rites for Reuben Stanley Kelly of Route 1, Lake, were held Saturday at the Lake Christian Church, where he was a member. The Revs. T. Powell Sharp, Clinton Parke and Allen Anderson officiated and interment was in [t]he Pace Cemetery at Hazel, north of Lake.
Mr. Kelly died Friday at the family residence. He was a native of Newton County, born Dec. 12, 1891, his parents being Marion and Mary Floye Emmons Kelly. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Lucy Roberta Kelly; six sons, Joseph B. of AFB, Newfoundland, Stanley N. and Robert E. of Vallejo, Calif., Clifton R. of Lake, Herman of Station WBKN in Newton and Lake, and Herbert Kelly of Newton; one daughter, Mrs. Marzelle Palmer of Mississippi City; one brother, Floyd Kelly of Greenville; six sisters, Mrs. Irvin Cooksey of Lake, Mrs. Lamar Leach and Mrs. Nannie M. Satterfield, both of Jackson, Mrs. Clyde Bounds of Laurel, Mrs. John Goodwin and Mrs. Wiley Ivey, both of Lake; 12 grandchildren.
