Reuel E. Emmons

SIKES -- Services for Reuel E. Emmons will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Sikes Baptist Church with the Rev. James Moffett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern, Winnfield.

Emmons, 90, of Sikes died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday in Rapides General Hospital, Alexandria.

He was a schoolteacher in Sikes for many years. He also owned Emmons Grocery in Sikes.

Survivors include his wife, Lena Parker Emmons of Sikes; two daughters, Neva Gail Mayes of Conroe, Texas and Dee Anne Ricks of Pineville; one brother, Roy Emmons of Lake Charles; one sister, Ava Parker of Winnfield; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until noon Monday at the funeral home.
