Rex Ervin
Rex Ervin, 58, of Stringer, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, with burial in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Jasper County. The Revs. Bill Riley and J.J. Mullinax will officiate.
He served in the United States Army and was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hudson Ervin.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Ervin of Stringer; a son, Alan “Bo” Ervin of Stringer; mother, Annie Ruth Ervin of Stringer; a brother, Ken Ervin of Stringer; a sister, Lana Myrick of Stringer; and mother-in-law, Faye Flynt of Laurel.
Pallbearers will be Neil Scrimpshire, Sam Ervin, Wetzel Bankston, Steven Butler, Reese James and Jason Alburn.
Honorary pallbearers are Dwight Jenkins, Jimmy Bryant, Curtis Myrick, Bobby Ervin and Dominique Butler.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.
