Rhea Arthur “R.A.” Ferguson Jr.

SHREVEPORT, LA -- Services celebrating the life of Rhea Arthur “R.A.” Ferguson, Jr. will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 10, 2010, at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Ken Irby. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue.

R.A. was born May 25, 1924 in Shreveport, LA and passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at his residence. He was an active member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church. R.A. served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of WWII. He was a Master Mason in Queensborough Lodge No. 418 and a lifetime member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers.

His wife of 60 years, Carlotta Stovall Ferguson, parents, R.A. Ferguson, Sr. and Hattie McLeod Ferguson, and brother, Billy Ferguson, preceded R.A. in death.

Left to cherish beautiful memories are his sons, Gary and his wife, Karen of Shreveport, LA, David and his wife, Janice of Humble, TX and Chris and his wife, Kellie of Florien, LA; grandchildren, Jennifer and Lindsey of Shreveport, LA, Brian of Spring, TX, Kevin of Humble, TX, Kristen of Austin, TX, Caleb, Logan and Morgan of Florien, LA; great grandchildren, Harley and Mackenzie; step grandchildren, Jacques and Marc Francoeur of Shreveport, LA; sister, Betty McLeod Robertson and her husband, Bill of Shreveport, LA; and sister-in-law, Frances Ferguson of Frisco, TX.

Honoring R.A., as pallbearers will be Mark Ferguson, Steve Robertson, Caleb Ferguson, Brian Ferguson, Kevin Ferguson, Logan Ferguson and Rick Gilbert.
