Richard Blystad Sr.
A retired businessman, Richard B. Blystad Sr. died at 6:23 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at his home in Denham Springs. He was 86, and a native of Ponchatoula. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from the U.S. Air Force.
Visitation was at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Thursday until religious services, conducted by the Rev. Lee Ostten. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park, Denham Springs.
He is survived by two sons, Richard Jr. and Thomas Blystad; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie May Blystad; parents, Richard C. and Ellen Irby Blystad; six sisters; and a brother.
He was a member of Lockhart Road Baptist Church, Denham Springs.
