Dr. Richard Berkeley DeLee
SHREVEPORT - Services for Dr. Richard Berkeley DeLee will be held at 2:30 on Monday January 4, 1982 at the Osborn Funeral Home. Dr. Stone Carraway will officiate. The eulogy will be offered by Edwin P. Ogler.
Dr. DeLee, 70, born December 28, 1911, died at his home on January 1, 1982 after a long illness. He was a native of Shreveport. He was educated at Byrd High School, Centenary College, and graduated from Tulane Medical School in 1934. He did his medical internship and residency at the Shreveport Charity Hospital. He was in practice in Shreveport for 41 years from 1936 to 1977. He was on the medical staff at Schumpert and Physicians and Surgeons Hospitals. He was a member of the Louisiana Medical Association and the Shreveport Medical Society.
Dr. DeLee was Commodore of the Shreveport Yacht Club and Honorary Rear Commodore. He was on the planning committee for the first Holiday-in-Dixie. He completed a post graduate course on the Engineering and Medical Aspects of Clinic Sonography.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes Solis DeLee, two daughters, Rickey Marshall and Claire Melton, one brother, Dr. Stuart De Lee, two grandsons, Tom Marshall and Hunter Marshall, and one son-in-law, Ben Melton.
Pallbearers will be: Ben Melton, Hunter Marshall, Tom Marshall, Dr. Wallace Brown, Dr. Keith Mason, Sr. and Clayton McCuistion.
