COALGATE -- Richard Edgar Cox, 77, retired rancher and business man, died at his home here Sunday; funeral Monday at 2. First Baptist Church, Rev. J. H. Bradley; Coalgate Cemetery, Slater's Funeral Home.
Born in Vineyard, Texas, Cox moved to Oklahoma in 1900; he served as county weigher for two terms.
Surviving are the wife, Jennis [sic Jennie]; daughters, Ethel of the home, Mrs. Etta Jackson [sic Jackman] of Miami, Okla., Mrs. Ida [sic Iva] Sprague of Coalgate; sons, Eddie of Coalgate, Bruce of Tulsa; sisters, Mrs. Lula Kerr of Coalgate, Mrs. Minnie Scott of Amarillo, Texas, Mrs. Susie Chaney of Centrahoma; 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild.
