CAPT. R. H. PRATT DEAD

Supervisor of Education of Bibb County Passes Away

Centreville, Sept. 17. -- (Special.) -- Capt. R. H. Pratt, Superintendent of Education of Bibb county, died at his home at Six Mile this morning after a long illness.

He was one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Bibb county and had held the office of Superintendent of Education of this county for twelve years. Perhaps no man in Alabama has done more for the cause of education than Captain Pratt. For a great many years he was principal of the Six Mile Academy and no worthy pupil was ever turned away from this school on account of lack of funds.

He leaves his wife and a number of grown children and grandchildren to mourn his loss.

He was a Mason and will be buried with Masonic honors in the cemetery at Six Mile tomorrow.
