Richard E. Lewis

75, of Springfield died at 10:36 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Hospital.

He was born in Cass County on Sept. 27, 1912, the son of Benjamin and Minnie Hicks Lewis.

Mr. Lewis was a member of First Christian Church, Rose Club, State of Illinois Horticulture Council and the Sangamon Men's Garden Club, where he was Master Gardener. He was employed as a salesman for the Hubbard Feed Mill, retiring in 1977. Surviving are his wife, Opel; one son, Harry of Chatham; one sister, Mary Waenblast of Brighton; one granddaughter; and two nieces.

Boardman-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Richard E. Lewis

Services for Richard E. Lewis of Springfield will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Don Clingan officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Mr. Lewis, 75, died at 10:36 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Opal; one son, Harry of Chatham; one sister, Mary Wagenblast of Brighton; one granddaughter; and two nieces.
