Richard L. Statham

Richard L. Statham, 89, of McComb, died Sept. 2, 2002, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until services in Hartman chapel at 11 a.m. The Revs. Rick Kennedy and Jimmy Magee will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Mausoleum in McComb.

Mr. Statham was born May 7, 1913, in McComb. He was the son of Boyd Statham and Cleavy Johnson Statham.

He was a retired engineer with the Illinois-Central Railroad, where he worked for 35 years. He was a longtime member of East McComb Baptist Church.

Mr. Statham was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dr. Richard Paul Statham of Germantown, Tenn.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline T. Statham of McComb; a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Reeves Statham of Germantown; a grandson, Richard Kevin Statham and wife Laura of Collierville, Tenn.; and three great-grandchildren, Ben, Jacob and Nathan Statham.

Pallbearers will be Charles Barrett, Mark Statham, Dorsey Statham, Julius Addison, Larry Wigginton and Jimmy Barrett. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Steadfast Sunday School Class of East McComb Baptist Church.
