Logger Is Killed by Falling Tree

WINNFIELD, La. (AP) - Riley A. Abrams, a logging contractor, was killed Thursday by a falling tree in the nearby Sikes area.

Abrams was cutting a tree, when it fell into a dead tree. The dead tree snapped and struck Abrams, who died about two hours later in a Winnfield hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Southern Funeral home here.
