Bob Clarkson
TUPELO -- Robert Allen “Bob” Clarkson, 59, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at the North Miss. Medical Center after a sudden illness. He spent 23 years in the Air Force serving 10 1/2 years in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. He retired as a Master Sergeant July 1, 1988. During his duty in the Armed Services, he had been to 82 different countries throughout the world. After retirement from the Air Force, he was a slot technician for Harvey's in Tahoe, Nevada before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada where he worked for Nevada Landing Casino and Hotel in the same capacity.
A memorial stateroom service will be at 1:30 p.m. today at W. E. Pegues in Tupelo with Father Henry Shelton officiating.
Survivors include his wife of eight years, Joan Aston Clarkson of Tupelo; a daughter, Lisa Gerwe of Tupelo; a son, Chad Clarkson of Las Vegas; his mother, Mary Collins Clarkson of Homer, La.; two sisters, Sally Clarkson of Dunn, La., and Bonnie Bagby of Warren, Ohio; two brothers, James Clarkson of Brooksfield, Fla., and Rodney Clarkson of Homer, La.
He was preceded in death by his father, James W. “Bill” Clarkson, and a sister, Polly Clarkson.
