Robert ``Cap'' Battle Lynn

SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services will be conducted at Centuries Memorial Park for Robert ``Cap'' Battle Lynn, 94, of Shreveport, LA, on Friday, March 15, 2002 at 3 p.m. Services will be conducted by the 12th District, Dept. of LA, Veterans of Foreign Wars - Honor Guard. Visitation will be at Centuries Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Mr. Lynn entered into rest on Saturday, March 3, 2002 at the Summit Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in New Boston, TX and was a longtime resident of Shreveport. As a young man he served in the U. S. Navy, Asiatic Fleet in China on the Yangtze River and the China Sea. He then enlisted in the U. S. Coast Guard receiving a medical retirement in 1927. Mr. Lynn also retired as a tug boat captain working for Maryland Ship Building and Dry Dock. He was a 65 year member of the V.F.W and a member of the V.F.W. Honor Guard for ten years. He was a loving husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie Lynn. He is survived by two sons, Robert Lynn and wife, Beverly of Southfield, MI and James William Lynn and wife, Joyce of Millersville, MD and a host of friends in the Shreveport area.
