Robert C. Prince
Funeral services for Robert C. Prince, 71, of 5122 Bienville St.will be at 2:30 p.m. today, Thursday, in the Marshall Street Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home with the Rev. Lavell Kennedy, former pastor of Morningside Baptist Church, and Dr. James Taylor, interim pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.
The Sikes native died Wednesday morning at Schumpert Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Prince was a retired assistant chief of the Shreveport fire department and had lived in Shreveport since 1927 He was a member of Morningside Baptist church and served on that church's board of deacons. Mr. Prince was a Mason and a member of the Bethel White Shrine, order of the Eastern Star and Amaranths.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Young Prince of Shreveport , a daughter, Frances Burroughs of Shreveport, one sister, Merle Murray of Shreveport, three brothers, Ellis Prince of Shreveport, Curtis Prince of Carthage, Texas and Dr. B. E. Prince of Monroe, and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be, T. E. Rodgers, Charles Dring, Norman Lewis,Windom Johnson, J.C. Deason, Bernon Aaron, Glassell Davidson and A.V. Bardwell.
