CARTHAGE -- Funeral services for Robert D. Sharp, 84, of Carthage will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Jimerson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Fitzgerald and Rev. Freddy Mason officiating. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Sharp died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, in Longview. He was born Oct. 20, 1920, in Bartlesville, Okla., the son of Roland H. and Alma Stadalman Sharp. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1941 to 1945. He moved to Carthage in 1965, moved to LaPort, and returned to Carthage in 1986. Mr. Sharp retired in 1985 from Brown & Root.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Hooker Sholmire Sharp of Carthage; two sons, Robert D. Sharp Jr. of Deer Park and Jimmy V. Sharp of DeBerry; four daughters, Donna Rollins of Humble, Becky Welch of Mt. Belvieu, Pam Allison of Carthage and Dava Sholmire Giles of Longview; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
