Amite County Farmer Succumbs

Services for R. L. Freeman Held Friday From Coldwater Church

Funeral services for R. L. Freeman, 69, Amite county farmer, were held at one o'clock Friday afternoon from the Coldwater church and interment followed in the Coldwater cemetery. The Rev. Wash Lewis officiated at the final rites and friends of the family served as pallbearers.

Mr. Freeman passed away at one o'clock Thursday afternoon at the hospital in Liberty.

He leaves to mourn his passing four sons, Alvie, Sheelie [sic Shellie], Charlie and Claude Freeman; one daughter, Mrs. Lula Whittington; three brothers, Tyson Freeman, Connie and Kenna Freeman, Miss F. Freeman, Mrs. Dora McCoy, and Mrs. Janie Coleman, and one half sister, Miss Minnie Byrd, all of this community. Twelve grandchildren also survive.

The passing of Mr. Freeman is mourned by a host of sorrowing friends and loved ones. Deepest sympathy is being extended to members of the bereaved family.
