ROBERT HEAPE

Robert Heape, 74, of Moline, died Thursday (Oct. 5, 2000) at his home.

Mr. Heape was born July 10, 1926, at Independence, to William Lee and Etoile (Cook) Heape. He grew up in the Montgomery County area, graduating from Montgomery County High School. He later attended college at California for two years. Following his schooling, he worked at Lockheed Mfg. at Calif. and later was Plant Manager at Minot, S.D. He also farmed until his retirement.

He then moved to Cherryvale, where he farmed and later moved to Tulsa, where he worked in Apartment Management until moving back to this area in the mid 1980's.

He married Lowruther Rentz on Feb. 18, 1995, at Independence. The couple moved to Moline in 1996.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Lowruther Rentz; two sons, Jack of Broken Arrow, Okla., Robert of Parsons; one daughter, Bobbie June Osburn of Tulsa, one brother, Bill of Independence; two sisters, Jaunita Alexander of Cherryvale, Alberta Wilson, Wichita; 12 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the Potts Chapel.

Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel.

Friends may call at the Potts Chapel from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday and the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. The family may be contacted at the Eddie Wright residence, 1905 Ridgeway, (Woodland View Acres) Independence.

Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital and remembrances will be received at the Potts Chapel.
