Dallasites' Brother Dies In Seagoville
Robert Luther Ard, 48, for twenty-five years a Seagoville lumberman, died at his home there Friday. He was a brother of Wilbur Ard, well-known Dallas radio entertainer and musician.
Born in Seagoville on July 11, 1895, Ard resided in that community all of his life. He was past master of the Masonic Lodge there, was active in the Lions Club and past worthy patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the Seagoville Methodist Church.
He married Miss Ruth Haynie of Kaufman on December 29, 1915.
He is survived by his wife and three children, Pvt. James Haynie Ard, Mrs. Margaret Ard Cunningham and Alice Ard; a grandson, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Ard, Seagoville; two sisters, Mrs. Rhea Shaw and Mrs. John M. Wiser of Dallas, and two brothers, Harry C. Ard, New York City, and Wilbur Ard, Dallas.
