Robert L. Emmons Rites Are Held Tuesday Morning

Funeral services for Robert Lee Emmons, of Harperville, were conducted Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. from the Harperville Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Burns, Rev. Bill Stroud, and Rev. R. A. Coulter officiating and burial was in the Harperville cemetery.

Mr. Emmons was 61 years old, a native of Newton county, a retired farmer and a member of the Ridge Baptist church.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Elise [sic Elsie] Lee Williams Emmons of Harperville; 2 sons, Robert Earl Emmons of Lake; Louin Paschal Emmons of Metaire, La.; one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Sue McNair of West We Go, La., 3 sisters, Mrs. Oma Brown, Mrs. Virgie Crane, both of Lake; Mrs. Mary Bridges of Morton, one brother, John Emmons of Lena; 5 grandchildren and 1 step-granddaughter.

Active pallbearers were Miller Harkey, L. E. Gomillion, Bud Thrash, Jim Tatum, Jodie Gomillion, Penson Gunn, Jr.

Ott & Lee was in charge of arrangements.
