Funeral services for Robert Lela Smith, 77, of Baskin, were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 22, in the Chapel of Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
Interment was in Coax Cemetery with the Rev. S. B. Boyette officiating.
A native of Brookhaven, Miss., he was born Aug. 10, 1909. He was an employee of the Louisiana Department of Highways. He was a member of Woodmen of the World. He died on Feb. 21, 1987, following a lengthy illness.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby B. Smith, Baskin; one son, Sidney Smith, West Monroe; one daughter, Lonnie Mae Downs, West Monroe; one brother, J. B. Smith, Winnsboro; two sisters, Sadie Kemp Campbell and Nellie Burns, both of Winnsboro; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Don Kemp, Ted Smith, Clark Smith, Steve Kemp, Randall Kemp, Dennis Burns and Don Smith.
