Funeral services for Rev. Robert E. Magee of Kilmichael were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, at Kilmichael Baptist Church. Dr. David Sartin officiated the service and burial followed at Friendship Cemetery in Kilmichael. Visitation was held on Saturday, from 1 p.m. until service time, at the church.
Rev. Magee, 76, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at his daughter's residence in Kilmichael. He was the former pastor of Yakanookany Baptist Church in Attala County and a member of Kilmichael Baptist Church. Rev. Magee was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired educator.
Rev. Magee is survived by his daughters, Sharon Magee of Mobile, Ala., and Debbie Davis (Barry) of Kilmichael; sister, Eliska Lynch (Bill) of Denham Springs, La.; brother, John Louis Magee (Kathleen) of Hammond, LA; and grandchildren, Mary Kendall Ware, Ana Cole Ware, and Jake Ware, all of Kilmichael.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Gill Magee and parents, Jesse and Mildred Laird Magee.
Pallbearers were David Butler, Kelly Hall, Perry Vaughn, Larry Bamberg, Lamar Ellis, and Larry Greenlee. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacon body of Yockanookany Baptist Church.
