Bob Strange

Services for Mr. Robert “Bob” Strange were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Shane Duke and Rev. Oscar Holt officiating.

Mr. Strange, 63, of Columbia, died at 12:26 p.m., Wednesday in St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.

He was a member of the Banks Springs Baptist Church, a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a retired maintenance supervisor with the Columbia State School.

Survivors include his wife, Maggie Spillers Strange of Columbia; three sons, A.B. Strange, Preston Strange and Andrew Strange, all of Columbia; two daughters, Marion Kay Caraway of Columbia and Bessie Lavan Hall of Houston, Texas; his mother, Veteree Mason Strange of Columbia; two brothers, Melvin Strange and James Strange, both of Columbia; two sisters, Lorene Hatten of Chatham and Joyce Stevens of Columbia; six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Roy Kenworthy, Ken Connors, Kevin Connors, Randy Thompson, Ray Bailey, Jimmy Taylor, Charles Thompson, James Perot, Joe Bailey and Crockett Tarver.
