Robert Orville Wright

Funeral services for Robert Orville “Bob” Wright, 84 of Hollandale, MS will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Hollandale First United Methodist Church. He died after a brief illness on January 13, 2013 in Memphis, TN. Burial will be in Hollandale Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.

He was a 1947 graduate of Rolling Fork High School and continued his education at Delta State University. He served in the United States Air Force. Upon discharge he returned to the Delta where he engaged in farming. Bob was a member of Hollandale First United Methodist Church, Lions Club, and was active in the Emmaus Community. He enjoyed flying, boating, and hunting as a young man. In recent years he took great pride in home gardening. Foremost in importance to Bob was his family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Wesley and Lucile Kent Wright of Hollandale and sister Dorothy Wright Taylor of Como.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Patricia Sweatt Wright and daughters Pamela Jones Key (Tim) of Germantown, TN, Patricia Gene Jones Coward (John) of Madison, MS and Julie Ann Jones Doan (Cannon) of Memphis, TN. He is also survived by grandchildren Clay Coward, Elizabeth Key, Eleanor Key, Hays Doan, Hannah Coward, Mary Holland Doan, and Phillip Coward, two great grandchildren, and nieces Corinne Taylor and Anne Taylor of Murfreesboro, TN.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Wednesday prior to the services at Hollandale First United Methodist Church.
