R. P. Pate's Rites Today

ORANGE -- Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. today in Claybar funeral home for Robert P. Pate, 52, of Orange. The Rev. R. W. Hilldencamp, pastor of St. John's Methodist church, will officiate. Masonic graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Ryan Cemetery in Lufkin under the direction of Oakley-Metcalf funeral home.

A native of Angelina county, Mr. Pate died Sunday at 2 a.m. at Mill Creek camp on Sam Rayburn dam. He had lived in Orange for the past 26 years.

Mr. Pate was a machinist for Du Pont and a member of A.F. and A.M. Masonic Lodge and St. John's Methodist church. He was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Peggy Mae Lester Pate; three daughters, Carole, Susan, and Peggy Pate, all of Orange; one stepsister, Mrs. Enod Johnson of Houston; one stepbrother, William Emigh of Texarkana and his mother, Mrs. Annie Emigh of Burke.
