Robert R. Mooney
June 21, 1933 -- Nov. 23, 2002

Private services for Robert R. Mooney, 69, of College Station will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station.

Mr. Mooney died Saturday in the College Station Medical Center.

He was born in Lake Charles, La., and was an engineer working in Houston and Saudi Arabia building power plants and refineries. He received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 1956 from Texas A&M University and was a member of the 12th Man Foundation, Century Club and Quarterback Club.

Mr. Mooney served on the Wolf Pen Creek Development Board, Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals, Building Standards Commission and the Rail Advisory Committee of the Metropolitan Planning Organization in Brazos County. He served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps.

Survivors include his wife, Paulene Roeder Mooney of College Station; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelley Mooney and Ronnie Naramore of College Station; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard Michael and Bonnie Mooney of Arizona; a sister, Marion Jones of Houston; six sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; a granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
