Services for Roddie Marie Richey, ``The AVON Lady'' of Hineston, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2002 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church, Melder, La. with the Rev. Jason Townley of Melder and Brother Donald Lemmons of Deville officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery in Hineston under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.
Roddie Marie Richey, 73, of Hineston died Wednesday, July 24, 2002 in Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents Annie and Rex Poole, and a brother Freddie Poole.
She is survived and was much loved by her husband of 56 years, Charlie M. Richey of Hineston; four daughters, Mary Vermaelen (John) of Pineville, Betty Rhame (Eddie) of Melder, Rita Ainsworth Frazier (Ezell) of Boyce, Carol Barron (Rich) of Marietta, Georgia; three sons, Charles Richey (Barbara) of Hineston, Raymond Richey (Suzy) of Otis, David Richey (Kathy) of Deville; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Scottie Richey, Christopher Ricketts, Christopher and Matthew Richey, John Ainsworth, Warren Courts, Paul Myers, and Aaron Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Annie Myers, Natasha Smith, Cierra and Courtney Richey, Ivy Courts, Jennifer Richey, Amanda Ricketts and great-grandchildren, Alicia and Michael Paul Myers, Ryan Richey, Michael Scott and Logan Smith and Makenzie Courts.
Friends are asked to call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at Hixson Brothers and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday at Pine Ridge Baptist Church, Melder.
