Died at 6:16 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, in Biloxi, Miss. He was 53, a native of Gloster, Miss., and a resident of Biloxi for the past 24 years.

Body at Brown Funeral Home, Gloster, after 5 p.m. Saturday. Religious services at 2 p.m. Sunday at the New Hope Methodist Church, Gloster, conducted by the Rev. Bill Oxner. Interment in church cemetery.

Survived by his wife, Mrs. Opal Dawson, Biloxi; two sons, Harold Dawson, Atlanta, Ga., and Jerry Dawson, Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Miss Rebecca Dawson, Biloxi; his mother, Mrs. Allie Dawson, Baton Rouge; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Crum, Baton Rouge, Mrs. Maxine VonDrasek, Memphis, Mrs. Florence Byrd, Hattiesburg, Miss., and Mrs. Tressie McKey, Centreville, Miss.; five brothers, Thomas Dawson, Liberty, Miss., Carlos Dawson, Laurel, Miss., Lloyd Dawson, Memphis, Lamottis Dawson, Baton Rouge, and Nelson Dawson, Baton Rouge.
