Roddy Finley Luster, 82, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at Ridgeland Pointe in Ridgeland. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today and 1 p.m. Friday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Services are 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with burial in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
A native of Jackson, he was the son of the late Miles Roddy and Mary Finley Luster. He was a graduate of Central High School in Jackson and attended Millsaps College. He proudly served his country as an instructor pilot during World War II as Captain, 31st Dixie Division, U.S. Army and was a member of the Army National Guard when activated for the Korean War. He was retired from the United State Post Office.
Mr. Luster was a long time member of the Madison Methodist Church and was a Mason. His passion was hunting, fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Sadie Anding Luster on March 30, 2004.
Survivors include his loving family, son, Jim Luster and his wife, Brenda of Madison; daughter, Lynda Fagan of Madison; son, Steve Luster and his wife, Cindy of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Randy Luster and his wife, Lynn of Buford, Ga., Michael Luster and his wife, Ashley of Madison, James Luster of Hattiesburg, Leigh Ann Luster of Jackson, Alan Fagan of Nashville, Tenn., Brian McCuller and his wife, Brooke of Southaven, and Angela, Teresa an[d] Chris Luster, all of Orlando, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Miles McCuller, Kelsey Luster, Jillian Luster and David Matthews; his brother, Harold Luster and his wife, Joyce of Memphis, Tenn.; his sister, Lynn McBride and her husband, Rev. John McBride of Knoxville, Tenn.; and his devoted caretaker, Mildred White.
