Roger Dell Bass
Roger Dell Bass, 69, of Liberty, passed away March 2, 2016, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Brown Funeral Home in Liberty and continues Saturday at Liberty Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until services there at 11. The Rev. Bradley Geno and the Rev. James Sadler will officiate. Burial will follow in Blalock Cemetery in Liberty.
Mr. Bass was born May 8, 1946, to Tom A. and Elsie Jackson Bass.
He worked as a self-employed plumber for 30 years and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tommie R. Bass and Jimmie M. Bass; and a sister, Olivia Bass Tarver.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, DeLacy Hays Bass; a daughter, Stacy Bass Smith and husband Worth A. Smith III; a son, Stephen D. Bass; two grandchildren, Madeline A. Bass and Ethan L. Bass; a brother, Hansel Bass and wife Angie; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Charles “Smiley” Kirkland, Eli Harrell, Robert Seal, Eddie Forman, Gary “Fish” Van Norman and David Motichek. Honorary pallbearers are Melvin Blalock, and Mr. Bass' nephews, Jason Bass, Jacob Bass, Robbie Bass, Bodie Bass and Adam Hays.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Stained Glass Fund.
