Wheelus Rites held in Texas

Rogers Ray Wheelus, 46, died Thursday at Malone and Hogan Hospital in Big Springs, Tex., after a lengthy illness. He was born in 1932 in Winnsboro.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Sheppard Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Claude Craven officiating. Burial was at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

Wheelus was an operator for Price Construction Co. of Big Springs. He was a member of the Baptist Church, the VFW and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Wheelus of Big Springs; two daughters, Judy Fennell of Snyder, Tex., and Lynn Wickleiffe of Robert Lee, Tex.; two sons, Ray Wheelus of Snyder, and Marvin McClanhan, also of Snyder; his mother, Mrs. Henry Wheelus of Monroe; one sister, Helen Mathis of Monroe; three brothers, W. H. Wheelus of Winnsboro, Ralph Wheelus of Atlanta, Ga., and James Wheelus of El Dorado, Ark.; and two grandchildren.
