“OLE MAN”

A longtime employee of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 9:50 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Many.

Visiting was at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel, 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. J.T. Halley. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Survived by his mother, Dorothy Evans, Baton Rouge; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ronnie Gilbert, Baton Rouge; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Turner W. and Susan Evans, Lumberton, Texas, and G.P. “Buddy” Evans, Baton Rouge; mother of his children, Joy T. Evans, Baton Rouge; a brother, Granville A. Evans, Baton Rouge; six grandchildren, Bradley, Joey, Megan, Angela, Bridgette and Katlyn. He was of the Baptist faith.
