Ronnie D. Hatten Funeral Service Set Wednesday

Funeral services for Ronnie Dale Hatten, 23, of West Monroe, will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in West Monroe with the Rev. Roy Dowden officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery at Sikes.

Mr. Hatten and two other men were killed Monday at 6:30 p.m. when their pickup truck was involved in a head-on collision with a trailer-truck four miles south of Newellton. He was the brother of Jimmy R. Hatten, managing editor of the Monroe Morning World. Others killed were Quinton Mayes, 51, of Columbia and Harold A. Slay, 25, of Olla.

He was a self employed mechanic and held membership in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and the U.S. Army Reserve.

Other survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Hatten of West Monroe; one other brother, Herschel Hatten of Sulphur; one sister, Mrs. Robert H. Harbour of San Antonio, Tex.; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Curt Mayes of Sikes.
