Etta Grant Thompson, 94, Of Route 1, Four Oaks
Mrs. Etta Grant Thompson of Route 1, Four Oaks died Wednesday in Johnston County Memorial Nursing Center in Smithfield. She was 94 years of age.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Johnston County on July 22, 1886. Her parents were the late Benjamin and Atty Grant.
She was the widow of Perry Daniel Thompson, who died in 1958.
She was a member of Stewart's Chapel Church.
The funeral was scheduled for 3 o'clock Friday afternoon in Stewart's Chapel Church with the Rev. Lester Byrd, the Rev. Graham Westbrook, and the Rev. Ferrell Hardison officiating and burial following in the cemetery at Piney Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. W. J. Baker and Mrs. Pharo Twigg of Four Oaks, Mrs. Lettie Holley of Smithfield, and Mrs. Stella Faircloth of Coats; six sons, Willie J. and Grady W. Thompson of Four Oaks, Roland Thompson of Benson, Jesse Thompson of Selma, and Grover and Lassie Thompson of Smithfield; and 43 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
