Rose Lucille Hill Powell
January 16, 1922 - October 27, 2010

Lucille was married to Walton E. Powell for 57 years. She was 18 years old when they met. He shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with her, and she trusted Christ as her Savior. As a committed Christian, she served her Lord for all her adult life. In church, she taught God's word to youth for 32 years. She loved music, played piano and sang in the choir. A gifted hostess, she and Walton hosted many parties for youth and adults. Lucille faithfully prayed for others, many of whom she never met. She wrote hundreds of letters and cards to encourage those who were away from home, in prison or sick. Lucille will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, one whose zest for life brought laughter and joy to everyone. She was optimistic and maintained a positive attitude always thankful for the blessings God gave her.
