Rosemary ``Nana'' Atwood
Rosemary was born in Durant, Oklahoma on August 1, 1918. She was the
youngest daughter of Frank and Ruby Brooks, and sister to Catherine and
Wendell, both who preceded her in passing. Rosemary and Ralph met while
attending the University of Arkansas, fell in love, and 71 years later they
were still holding hands as she passed peacefully into heaven.
Rosemary was a wonderful wife, friend, and mother. She was a talented
architect, designer, and artist. When painting, she always said, ``Just pay
attention to the light!'' And, Mother, we are. Rosemary had southern charm
and excelled at being a hostess, always making everyone feel completely
welcome in her home.
Rosemary is survived by her husband, Ralph; and her children, Judy Propp
(Lee), R.W. Sandy Atwood II (Nancy), and Mark Atwood (Mary Gene); 14
grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2010
in the Courtyard Room of Salem Alliance Church, 555 Gaines St. N.E., Salem,
