Mrs. Taunton, 79

JENA, La. -- Mrs. Rosie Mae Taunton, 79, died Friday at 9:15 p.m. in the Jonesville clinic.

Remains are at the family residence in Jonesville with services to be held from there at 3 p.m. today. Rev. Tom Ratcliff will officiate and interment, under the direction of Hixson Bros. Funeral Home of Jena, will be in the Taunton family cemetery near Manifest.

Survivors include her husband, Bullard Taunton of Jonesville; four sons, Oliver and Jack, both of Jonesville, Thomason [sic Thompson] of Ferriday and Dock of Vidalia; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Poole of Ferriday and Mrs. Nannie Bass of Jonesville; two brothers, Boone Taylor and Mayfield Taylor, both of Pineville; a sister, Mrs. Laura Coleman of Jonesville; 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
